Sally Miller is a multidisciplinary artist, puppeteer, and performer. She trained at the Centre for the Performing Arts in Australia and Tooba Physical Theatre in Vancouver, developing a foundation in movement, physical storytelling, and performance.
As the co-founder and artistic lead of Pico’s Puppet Palace (est. 2016), Sally creates imaginative puppet theatre that fuses handcrafted puppets, live music, and storytelling. Her work emphasizes sustainability through the use of reclaimed and repurposed materials, reflecting her commitment to creativity, environmental awareness, and resourceful design.

Sally’s productions have toured nationally and internationally, captivating audiences of all ages in theatres, festivals, and community spaces. She regularly leads workshops that foster collaboration, play, and hands-on learning for children, families, and educators.

Her artistic achievements have been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the BC Arts Council for touring and the creation of new work, demonstrating the company’s capacity to successfully manage funding and deliver high-quality projects. In 2022, she was awarded the UNIMA Australia Lorrie Garner Scholarship to undertake a residency with Papermoon Puppet Theatre in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. In 2024, she was awarded a residency with ASSITEJ Canada in partnership with the Mississauga Puppet Festival, and represented Canada at the Pesta Boneka Puppet Festival in Yogyakarta, hosted by Papermoon Puppet Theatre.
